New Voices Scholarships to attend Third Coast Conference 2012

AIR, the Association of Independents in Radio, Inc is pleased to open the gate to producers interested in applying for a New Voices scholarship to attend Third Coast International Audio Festival's 2012 conference in Evanston, IL October 5-7.  The scholarships were established 3 years ago to support professional development for minority producers - both independent and station-based.

The goal of the New Voices scholarship is to help broaden the pipeline for a new generation of diverse talent – people who show potential to make public media more reflective of the American public. By encouraging you to be an active part of the mix, we're offering a unique opportunity for you to further develop your talents, professional relationships, your understanding of the field, your voice.

Applicants will be asked to submit a brief statement outlining their big ideas for how they would make a positive impact on public media. Applicants may request up to $1500 to help offset costs associated with attending the conference. A panel will be convened to review applications, and final decisions will be announced by the beginning of September. Those who have never attended a Third Coast Conference are particularly encouraged to apply.

Please note: Interested candidates should review the details outlined in the FAQ before applying. Those selected will be required to attend a few specific sessions at the conference, which are outlined in the FAQ.
