Press Release:     Barrett Golding won the Montana Broadcasting Association E. B. Craney Broadcasting Awards in the Noncommercial Radio Program of the Year category. The winning entry was the radio show "John and Nippy," a short sound-portrait of the life of rancher/musician John Hoiland. Hoiland lives on the West Boulder River near McLeod, Montana. In the show, Hoiland's accordion music is accompanied by harmonious howls from his dog Nippy, as he tells the story of ranch life in Montana. "John and Nippy" aired on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" and "Weekly Edition: The Best of NPR News." The show can be heard at PressRecord.com online. It was produced with funds from a grant awarded to Golding by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
